i just want to say that I brought my two sons( who are both bass players and myself) to the Rocky Mountain Bass Slam 2009 and what a great event .The food was great,the giveaways, and the talent was through the roof , the local players tore it up and DOUG JOHNS was amazing... beyond amazing,he inspired my 11 yr old son to start playing everyday which is hard to do for an 11 yr.old. I am also proud to say he(Trey) was the grand prize winner of the Tranzamp bass amp. He is still walking on the clouds for that. I just want to thank you for bringing such a cool event to all ages of future bass players. We will be in attendance for the next R.M.Bass Slam and hopefully will showcase my son soon. This is a great idea. I remember when I was in high school and the bass for our jazz band got ripped off. Somebody donated a new bass to our school and we didn't miss a beat. I remember thinking at the time how cool it was that somebody would donate an instrument to some kids that they had never even met.

This event fits the definition of cool.
