The Cause

The Rocky Mountain Bass Slam, Jam, and BBQ is a celebration of the bass guitar!

The Slam will also raise funds in order to donate some bass guitar equipment to local beneficiaries:  Our goal is to put a bass guitar in the hands of youth who normally may not have access to the beautiful instrument of the bass.

Your attendance and support of the Slam will help us to help others!!

"Sunny" James

Introducing “Sunny” James - a 10 year old future bass slammer. He was born to an older, drug-addicted mother and suffered from neglect and malnutrition. At 6 years old, he was sent to live with a relative, where he was beaten with extension cords and belts. Because his school noticed bruises and scars on him, the police were notified and he was returned to his mother. He was then found on a major city street at 12:30 in the morning, taken home, and because the mother was incoherent, Social Services was called. He was then placed in foster care.

James is now in a safe and loving home and attends Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Academy. He studies Hip Hop, Break Dancing, Ballet, African drumming, and guitar. Since attending Cleo Parker, his anxiety and depression have been greatly reduced. He shows great musical talent and the guitar is a wonderful outlet for his stress and anger. His interest is more in bass guitar, and he would love to be able to explore this instrument in depth.

We hope to give Sunny a brand slappin n spankin new bass and some gear for his future musical endeavors. We hope he can join us for Bass Slam 2017 and be a performer!
